Daughter house of the French community of Novinges a l‚Aveyronç. Archbishop of Tarragonna confirmed their posessions in 1158. With papal permission from Alexander III (1169), a large part of the community went on to found the monastery of S. Feliu de Cadins, and Valldemaria became a priory of the latter.
