Foundation Information
 

Founded by the abbot Edifred, and confirmed by Charlemagne. Originally men only, but in 1079 count Ermengol IV (Urgell) and his wife Llúcia (with permission from the pontifical legate Amat) introduced nuns from S. Pere de les Puelles, leaving a monk as their prior and chaplain.

Made a dependency of S. Sadurní de Tavèrnoles in 1134 because of lax discipline, but the Bishop of Urgell was able to regain control in 1268.
