Foundation Information

Already circa 1430 there was a cell in Keppelsberg (Klausenberg/Kerspelsberg) at Meschede. This appears to have been inhabited by hermits. After the hermits left, circa 1472 women of the third order of S. Dominic assumed the location. They moved to the village of Hückelheim in 1483. The name of the convent changed to Hückelheim, then Galilaea.
