This community was founded circa 1280 in Suntheim near Ruffach. In 1290 the community was transferred to Gebweiler. (It is unclear whether the community was female at this date). In 1445 the community came into the possession of the Order of Preachers and a community of Dominican nuns dwelled here. In 1465/66 the community was re-established and continues(?).

Other Ecclesiastical Relations

Thirteen Observant sisters from this community were sent to attempt to reform the convent of Klingental circa 1480. When the reform of Klingental was later reversed, the sisters from this community were sent back, and the prioress, Elsbeth Dürner, was deposed. In a letter to a friend, the prioress angrily recounted her deposition in 1482.
