According to Hugh Candidus, the relics of St. Cyneburga and Cyneswitha, daughters of Penda of Wessex, were said to reside at Castor until the early 11th century (See The chronicle of Hugh Candidus, a monk of Peterborough; See Veiled Women vol. 2, 53-54).
