Description: In the upper register of this minature, the Sponsa reclines in a mystical bedchamber in a deep, contemplative sleep under a midday sun. Below her, Christ addresses the daughters of Jerusalem while pointing up toward the Sponsa with his right hand. With his left hand, Christ points to the roes and harts in the bottom register.

Interpretation: The image is derived from Songs 2.7. The harts represent figures of ascent and their conquest of mountain heights. Readers fo the rothschild Canticles are addressed as daughters of Jerusalem.
