As part of the convent's internal reform circa 1469/1470, the fourteenth-century church was renewed. To the south of the church previously existed two chapels, one of which was dedicated to the Ebstorf martyrs. The nuns of Ebstorf shared their church with the lay community. The nuns occupied a nuns' choir in the second story, thereby dividing them from the laity.
