This community existed as a female Benedictine house until 1136, at which time it ceased to be a female house and became a male house. The male Benedictine house existed until 1539.
The Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz possesses a manuscript of the "Seelentrost" in German, circa 1447/8, which belonged to this house, E GErm. 2o1293. The Landesbibliothek in Darmstadt preserves a sixteenth-century manuscript from this house, # 4073.
