This community of nuns is only attested to by John Leland and needs verification(The itinerary of John Leland in or about the years 1535-1543, vol. 4). The dates are uncertain. Apparently the community was destroyed by Danes but it is not clear whether this was during tenth or eleventh century or in the earlier Viking Age. The community was not in operation at the time the Domesday book, which lists St. Peter's church as the owner of the property, was written.
Foot notes that evidence for this house is dubious (Veiled Women, vol. 2, 45).
