Description: Martha in her Kitchen. She prepares food for Christ and his Apostles, the subject of an adjacent fresco.
Interpretation: The subject of Martha preparing food puts a particularly female emphasis on the symbol of the sacrament, as well as, the daily chores of women. In addition, the noble family of Trinci were particularly devoted to the Ss. Mary Magdalene and Martha. Maestra Angelina da Montefiove, countess of Marsciano and sister-in-law of Trincia Trinci, signore of Foligno, had strong ties to the monastery and may have influenced the program of this fresco.
